Last Chance Dog Rescue

We are a Non Profit dog rescue operating in the DFW Metroplex. Our mission is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Re-home abandoned and unwanted dogs.

About

Here is a short-ish history of Last Chance Dog Rescue. We moved to Forreston Tx in November 2010 and after a couple of months we found a bull terrier on our porch. She was in a bad way having been dumped and then attacked by Coyotes. The animal control (Sheriffs Dept) told us they thought she had been used as a breeder and then dumped when she got too old. We were told she wouldn’t live out the week, but we nursed her back to health and Bonnie lived another 9 years passing away in early 2020 of old age. (That’s her with her pet puppy Zoey top left next to the logo in the header).

Since then, we have been taking in and re-homing homeless dogs (our count is currently 19). This has, to this point, been a labor of love and all expenses have come out of our own pockets. But it has now become necessary to put this endeavor on a more “official” footing and so this month we have launched “Last Chance Dog Rescue” and formed a 501c3 nonprofit so we can take this to the next level. We hope everyone will wish us success as we move forward into the great unknown as we look to secure funding for buildings and running costs so we can keep on helping the little ones and not so little ones (Great Pyrenees anyone?) who can’t help themselves.
